After our six-hour hike, we visited Sipi Coffee, where we had booked a coffee tour.
Everything from cultivation, harvesting, processing, to roasting was explained to us in detail. We were shown the differences using coffee beans with and without the four husks they have. Then, by pounding in a wooden vessel, the husks were removed from the beans. During this process, we learned that from the dried husk of the coffee cherries - essentially the pulp - one can also make tea, syrup, wine, or compost. We also got to taste such a tea.
