It's remarkable how lavishly rest areas and their associated toilets are equipped here. This morning we had a toilet with a sea view (the sea side was fitted with mirrored glass) and now we are in Ersfjord, the toilet is heated and covered in gold - according to the travel guide it is said to have cost 3.5 million NOK - somehow the Norwegians are crazy ;) In between, we have about 300 kilometers to drive - if the stupid ferry had operated, it would probably not have been even 70 kilometers. After two ferries, another sighting of a sea eagle (unfortunately, it was not keen on posing for photos) and an endless straight road, we have ended up here because of the golden toilet and have to go back tomorrow! The tunnel that we would need for the direct continuation is blocked! But the decision to take the detour was absolutely right, the roads and tunnels are very challenging but everything we have seen here is simply amazing!
