Day 5. Continuing South

So we leave Massa behind and continue south, following the SS1 along the coast.

This time the drive is completely smooth, except for the fact that our phones always want to take us on the autostrada, but we prefer to follow the country road.

We have come to just before the island of Elba, which we briefly considered visiting, but then decided against it due to the ferry prices and the relatively short time we could spend there.

With our Acsi app, we quickly found a campsite where we can stay for €14 per night. Beautifully located in a pine forest, only 50 meters from the sea. Including the sound of the sea 🌊

Here too, we are almost alone. During our first visit to the beach, we were spread out over about 1km of beach with 10 other people.

As you can see, the weather is similar to yours, except that we have the Mediterranean Sea.

In the evening, we had delicious burgers 🍔 from the grill and a little sip.
