Alcatraz

This morning we visited "Japantown"; unfortunately, it wasn't a great experience, but the ride there on the cable car was appreciated as the kids got to stand and hang out of the tram.

In the afternoon, we visited Alcatraz. The guidance via headphones was excellent, and we all four appreciated it. The sound effects and voice recordings made it easy to immerse ourselves in how it used to be in the prison. We also got to meet a former inmate and ask him questions. He had been imprisoned in various penitentiaries but escaped, which led him to Alcatraz.

The evening ended at the poet's with a view of the sea lions.
