So, the tour is over
Many new impressions and people, amazing landscapes, impressive and sometimes intimidating nature, especially in Georgia, due to daily rain and thunderstorms there were frequent rockslides and landslides, which is why I didn't visit the southern parts of the country towards Armenia for safety reasons.
Eagles, snakes, and turtles. The howling of wolves and jackals in Turkey. Aggressive herding dogs, cows, goats, horses, donkeys, pigs, and sheep on the roads, along with their slippery droppings.
Storms to a severe weather then temperatures up to 37 degrees Celsius. Huge deciduous and coniferous forests to stone deserts. Great and sometimes challenging and borderline off-road routes. Dropped the motorcycle 3 times.
Lonely mountain roads with extreme inclines and descents. Horrible traffic in the cities, where it seems that there are no traffic rules.
With the nearly 1400 km in the rental car, I covered about 13000 km. The shortest leg was 86 km. The longest 900 km.
A total of 3 flat tires, a defective clutch switch, and a dented case.
Used about 520 liters of gasoline and ½ liter of oil.
It was a great two months. I have realized that it's enough for me. As a solo traveler, when I have few opportunities to exchange ideas with someone, to review the day, then this time is enough for me. Then it is time for me to come back home. I don't think I will become a world traveler, at least not with the motorcycle, perhaps it's different in a camper or similar, when you have your own retreat space and don't have to constantly sleep in a tent or strange beds.
The next trip is already planned. With my boys Jan and Lenard and their girlfriends Anne and Ana, we will go to Scotland in September. Unfortunately, Bernadette had to cancel because she has some important appointments during that time. So we have to bring her photos of her lands.
Really a pity!
Next year? We will see! The Baltic and Scandinavian countries? Portugal, Andorra, Morocco? I don't know yet.
Maybe it will work out with Mathias and Hartmut to go to Iceland and the Faroe Islands. That would be nice.
