After leaving the hostel this morning, I went to Lake Rotorua. It's quite nice here, there is a small island in the middle of the lake.
Shortly afterwards, a woman sat down next to me. She came from Auckland and is a New Zealander.
We got into a conversation and she told me a lot about her life story. We talked about Germany, I told her about the refugees, my life in Germany, and so on...
Doesn't happen every day.
Afterwards, I met up with Patrick. We checked in again at the hostel. Since we wanted to rent a car for the weekend but couldn't find an open store, we took the bus to the Redwoods Treewalk. But since it wasn't dark yet, we walked around again and it was really worth it. It looked really beautiful in the twilight when the lights came on.🙈
However, we missed our last bus because of this and had to walk home through the forest in the dark, along the main road,...
On the way to the shisha shop, I ran into Fabian😁
Really funny coincidence. We last saw each other in Auckland and just happened to run into each other here.
Really made me happy.☺️
We both looked at each other strangely at first and thought it couldn't be true.
The world is so small.😁
By the way, I'm still waiting for the moment when I meet someone from Ravensburg.
But I doubt it.🙈
Afterwards, we went to a park and then back to the hostel.
Here in Rotorua, it smells strongly of sulfur because of all the geothermal energy.
After checking out relatively early, we went to have breakfast and then to the info center to book the bus for a trip to Te Puia.
It's sometimes a bit annoying without a car, but we can manage without it.
At Te Puia, we saw a Maori performance and then took a walk around.
There were mud pools, a natural steam cooker, geysers, a kiwi house (unfortunately, I only saw the kiwis on camera, as they were in their cave) and lakes.
Afterwards, we walked an hour back to Rotorua because we didn't want to wait for the bus.
After that, we went to eat burgers again and then had ice cream.
I accompanied him to the bus, as he has to be back in Auckland tomorrow.
It was a really nice weekend!
I'm staying here for another 3 days and for now, I'm alone again.
However, I just met a girl from the Netherlands, but she is already leaving tomorrow.
Shortly afterwards, I met Soja from Korea. And yes, it's really spelled that way😁🙈 We had to laugh right away.
I really like her ☺️
She immediately gave me a banana when I said I'm hungry again.😅
We were laughing so much. She's really cool. ☺️
Shortly afterwards, I also met another woman who is about 50 years old and comes from England. It's so easy to understand the English people! 😍 The New Zealanders are sometimes really challenging.
When I said goodbye to Patrick earlier, I felt a little lonely while walking to the hostel, but now everything is fine again. I'm really not good at being alone.🙈🙈
I should learn that someday!🙈
I'm really glad that I always meet new people so quickly.☺️
Since we had daylight savings time yesterday, the time difference between us is now 11 hours. I'm always 11 hours ahead of you 😉 If you want to know the lottery numbers or something...
By the way: There are actually many things in Germany that bother me. What I really like here is that there are no nuclear power plants!
Good night 🤗🤗
P.S. I would like to upload more pictures, but I'm having some problems with the network and the website.🤦♀️
