On Saturday (July 19), our stay in Lønstrup came to an end and we traveled to Asnæs on Zealand. For the first two hours, we drove by car, and finally boarded a ferry that took us to the island of Zealand. It was unusual to be on such a large ferry, especially as it was packed with people and everyone was sitting close together. After about two hours, we disembarked from the ferry and reached our destination, Asnæs, after half an hour.

The house here is the largest we've had so far. It has three bedrooms, a huge dining and living area, and two bathrooms. However, what impresses us the most is the garden. There are beautiful trees and shrubs there. Two trees have a swing that we enjoy using. Additionally, you can shower outside in an outdoor shower. Sun loungers, two tables, and a piece of exercise equipment are located on a terrace that wraps around half the house. From there, you have a beautiful view of all of Asnæs. We can see the sea and a huge forest. Here, we mainly take the time to relax since we have experienced so much at the other places and really like this house. It does annoy us that the house heats up very quickly. The landscape in Asnæs is hillier compared to the North Sea coast (not to be confused with cozy). Furthermore, the beach is further away, so it certainly takes about twenty minutes on foot.

One evening, we ate at a restaurant called “Emilios Pizza.” The pizza had a delicious topping and fluffy dough. Right next to the restaurant is the ice cream shop “Ida‘s Is.” Of course, my sister (who is also named Ida) was thrilled. We tried ice cream there on another day.

Our biggest excursion took us to Sagnlandet Lejre (Land of Legends), an open-air museum located about forty minutes from Asnæs. In Lejre, remnants of Viking ships and buildings have been found. Buildings from the Viking Age, Stone Age, and Iron Age have been reconstructed to show how people might have lived at that time. Employees were dressed as inhabitants and told us interesting things. Overall, the museum spans forty-three hectares and is thus very extensive. I particularly liked the sixty-meter-long Hall of Kings from the Viking Age. You can learn more about it at the following link: https://sagnlandet.dk/.

Today we went mini-golfing. We had wanted to do this for a while; unfortunately, something always got in the way before. Danish mini-golf is quite different from mini-golf in Switzerland. The courses are much smaller, the lanes are narrower, and the obstacles are not standardized. Nevertheless (or maybe because of that), mini-golfing here is a fun activity. The obstacles are presented in the form of cows, dice, lions, elephants, and rockets. As is usual for our family, everyone developed their own ambition, which inevitably led to some bad moods among a few. Well, we certainly haven't played mini-golf for the last time in Denmark; such facilities are as plentiful as sand on the beach.

Since it’s Friday again today, we will continue our journey to Marielyst tomorrow, which is located in the south of Zealand.

We would love to stay here because we like the house so much. However, we are excited about the next destination!
