Motueka - Picton: the final days on the South Island of New Zealand

22.2. - 25.2.

The final days on the South Island were challenging. 2 days before Picton, we had to conquer 3 huge mountains!

But, honestly, it wasn't as bad as we imagined. Maybe because our destination was so close!

The last day towards Picton was the best day of cycling so far!!!!! Definitely! The scenery was incredible! The photos don't do it justice, it's even more beautiful in reality.

It was an amazing route. Always a little bit up and down, and ALWAYS along the coast, along the fjords!

Unbelievable!!! We made it!

Almost 2000km ONLY by bike! We didn't take any other transportation! No! We cycled every single meter!

In rain, in heat, against the wind, in the best conditions, ... we experienced it all (often on the same day) ;-)

We are really proud of ourselves!

Now we are heading to the North Island. We will have to get to Auckland within a few days because Pichler is visiting us from Austria. Let's see how we manage that!
