In the morning, I was still at the watch museum in Besançon - you can tell that Switzerland is not far away. Just like in Japan, my perfect breakfast was at Starbucks, although there was seriously a man who found 40° not warm enough and wore a hat.... Just a stone's throw away — and voila, I was already in Dijon. Right at the beginning, I had a phone call: the lady from my room had apparently made a mistake and would stay another night. Since the hotel only has two rooms, the availability quickly became a juggling act. Fortunately, the lady of the house found a substitute place nearby and accommodated me there.
The heat and humidity were barely bearable; so bad that I had to take a siesta — and that really means something for me. I admired the Notre-Dame of Dijon, gave a lucky nudge to the owl with my left hand, and spent the evening relaxing at the Place de la Libération. Unfortunately, the market halls were closed as it was Sunday. A very picturesque city — only the sad sight of many homeless people and beggars slightly marred the postcard-like scenery.
