It’s half past six, seven degrees, and not a cloud in sight. Wow... Anja has to go out. Sunshine means Anja needs to go outside, even though it's so cozy under the blanket. Eat breakfast, visit the bathroom, as quickly as possible. Everyone knows what we’re talking about, whoever has been to a dry toilet in the national park. Carefully open the door, check to see if there’s a bear inside (though in Anja’s imagination it would look pretty funny, a bear sitting on the toilet doing its business), hold your nose, roll up your pants (Peter) - because of the wet ground (not from rain), balance one foot onto the dry, try to get the other one up too, lift the lid, try to avoid looking inside, but that’s only possible if there’s not too much already in there, do your business, be happy that toilet paper is available, put the lid down, burst out, exhale, ahhh, survived... Where is my phone???
These are the everyday joys of a camping vacation. But it’s just great to be in nature, whether it’s a dry toilet or not. Today we spent 7 hours by the sea, hiking at Botanical Beach, enjoying, marveling, watching the ocean, bald eagles, seals. The sun shone from the blue sky all day long. However, it was still quite cold. That’s why the bikes were not used. But we should definitely take a ride soon. The race starts on Saturday... Tomorrow...
Tonight we trained our stomachs with salmon burgers and beer from the local brewery at the village restaurant. A great day with great food.....and now it’s time for another visit to the pit toilet... Peter, leave your phone in the camper....
