I start my day with a super long, hot, soothing shower! Then we continue to the Huka Falls. A huge amount of water squeezing through a narrow river (200,000 liters of water per second). Because of the much air mixed with the water, it looks wonderfully turquoise!
But now off to shopping in Taupo! We spend what feels like an eternity looking for a larger pan to cook noodles .. luckily we find one, because we're both already half-starved.
Today I'm too tired to keep driving and the weather is so nice! So we head to a free campsite by the river. The water is crystal clear and ice cold. Wonderful refreshing and perfect as a substitute for a shower. There is no running water here otherwise. While sunbathing, I fall asleep next to quacking ducks.
Later, back at the van, we got a neighbor. A friendly German with whom we chat all evening. We cook carrot risotto for dinner. And we find a bargain for the next day on the Campermate App!
