In the next two days we are not particularly active and take everything a bit more leisurely. We head towards Queenstown and stop at a river for a little walk. At Lake Wakatipu, despite the fresh wind and ice-cold water, we go swimming with our air mattresses. After we had enough sun, we continue driving. I forgot to refuel and so we stop at the gas station 40 kilometers after Queenstown... And oh horror... The whole village currently has no electricity, so we have to go another 50 kilometers back to Mossburn. We are very lucky that our petrol is enough and the gas station there is functioning. We stay overnight at a cozy campsite with llamas. When checking in, we also get food to feed them.
The next day we drive to Te Anau. Souvenir shopping and cozy coffee drinking. We book a cruise through the fjords for the next morning and go to bed early.
Tip: For New Zealand there is the website: www.bookme.co.nz where you can find last minute offers for various tours etc. at a much cheaper price!
