Well fortified with breakfast on the banana leaf and fresh fruit salad, Oh yes, at some point you really crave fresh fruits, we start heading to the meeting point.
Our tour should start at 10 o'clock, as it is in India it gets later. Our guide keeps us waiting and then at some point he says we should join another tour, which has already wandered through the large historical temple complex for a while. Okay. He wants his money from us again. We don't give him any. Payment will be made after the service is provided. Pick up the bike and ride for about 5 minutes over a small hill. It's almost impossible with just one gear. The tour is very informative and there are many temples and ruins to admire. We can hardly imagine what it must have looked like here once. There are ruins of various markets. For example, the diamond market, despite a long search we find no diamonds anymore, or the horse market.
There are also several temples to admire. However, most of the statues of the Indian deities have been destroyed, so these places are no longer holy. Another highlight is the elephant stables and the summer palace of the queen, which was already equipped with a kind of air conditioning system (water system through the walls).
After 4 hours in the blazing heat, we are sweaty and tired. We all ride together to a nice restaurant with a beautiful garden and enjoy a traditional Thali.
Back in our accommodation and after a cold shower, we feel like new again.
Bad news:
Kay definitely doesn't like India anymore and wants to leave as soon as possible. But where to...
He also doesn't want to travel to any other Asian countries anymore... We'll see.
