Hello everyone,
After so many days away from civilization, it's time for us to cross the Arctic Circle and head south.
But seriously, I imagined the northern part of Europe to be much more remote. The truth is that you don't have to worry anywhere about not finding a gas station or a supermarket within the next 200 km. Everywhere you can find people and everything you need for your daily needs.
But now let's talk about our visit to the Arctic Circle in Norway. It's already much more adventurous than in Finland. This is probably because the Arctic Circle in Finland goes right through Rovaniemi, while in Norway it's about 70 km away from the nearest village, in a very barren area that greeted us with snow and freezing cold when we arrived. This is how you imagine the Arctic Circle.
Of course, the obligatory souvenir shop couldn't be missing here, where all sorts of unnecessary stuff were sold. After our visit to the Arctic Circle Center, we cooked a delicious soup in our motorhome to warm up.
We continue heading south and we are excited that we are slowly entering an area where we can expect something similar to darkness at night.
After two more hours of driving and another short break by a wild river,
we find a nice spot for the night. Once again, right by the sea,
with a beautiful playground where Lotte starts playing with some Norwegian girls her age right away and reluctantly stops when it's time to go to sleep.
Until tomorrow.....
And by the way: Happy Birthday to the best mother I could have. :-)
