Nature Park Market and Katz's Garden

Today, rain was supposed to visit us only in the afternoon – according to various weather apps. So, it was a good idea to visit one of the nature park markets. This means at the same time: no hike of several kilometers, but enjoying the local delights. What joy that brings.

Loffenau and Oberderdingen are about equally far from us. Since we were already in Kraichgau last Sunday, we chose to go to Loffenau today.

The GPS believed that the route via the A5 motorway was just as far as through Bad Herrenalb. So we took the more scenic route through the Albtal. As a passenger, I enjoyed the beautiful view again. The route wound peacefully through the Albtal past Ettlingen, Neurod, Fischweier, Marxzell, and Kloster Frauenalb, always along the tram line. A beautiful landscape for sure, even if there were no cows, sheep, or horses to be seen on the lush meadows.

From Bad Herrenalb then on to Loffenau. The access to the TEUFELSMÜHLE and the tower at the starting field for paragliders has been reopened after renovation. We had chosen the route from Loffenau to the Devil's Mill many years ago as a training tour for a hike in Cape Verde. It was quite steep and exhausting back then in the woods. So we didn't know much about Loffenau. We were quite surprised at how expansive this place is. But it is really beautifully situated.

The parking lot was well signposted. The entrance area to the market was secured with large tractors and hay bales - appropriate for the occasion.

Given the weather forecast, it was advisable to make a visit before the threatened thunderstorm, so many young families and dog owners were also out and about. So many things from the Black Forest were offered that the choice was difficult. There were also two grill stands serving wild bratwurst. Along with strawberries and cherries from the respective farm, goat cheese and goat sausages, jams and juices, mustard, and syrups of all kinds. Almost everything could be tasted. Brush manufacturers were also present. Among all the beautiful stalls, beer benches were set up under trees, and a flower fairy on stilts distributed lucky beads. A nice idea too. Heavily laden, we left this beautiful market.

And since there was still plenty of day left, we made a stop in Gernsbach. The KATZ'S GARDEN has completed its redesign, and we needed to check that out too. And at CAFÉ FELIX, we enjoyed an espresso and a rhubarb tart.

It turned out not to be a rainy day, and it was very warm at 28 degrees, despite the wind. But we could definitely enjoy the day.

See you soon!
