Father's Day Tour

Merzig 2026
Indeed, it has been a while since we visited this beautiful patch of earth. So today we return to the 'Garden of the Senses' in Merzig. Since the city center was closed, we took the path from above to get there.
Upon our arrival, a guided tour started, of which we had no prior knowledge. Otherwise, we would have gladly joined the group. Even without further explanations, it is an event to admire the many stations. With a bit of luck, we were there without a large crowd of other visitors.
The garden offers not only a rose garden, but also a sound and water world. For children, a lovely corner was created, including a barefoot path and a chicken coop waiting for visitors. Outside, only one rooster (looking rather scruffy without tail feathers) and five different hens were out and about.
The water world was not yet fully connected; the small ditch was dry. There were so many beautiful flowers blooming that it didn't matter much that the roses were hardly showing. Peonies, irises, and all the other blooms attracted bees in droves. And the scent was truly intoxicating. The sound worlds always entice me to experiment with the sounds of the individual 'metal toms'. Just like a child, hitting various pillars and boxes and perceiving the sound.
Today, for the first time in the café, I heard of a drink called Viez. Taking it away was unfortunately not possible, and I didn't want to try it on site. Something with apple wine and a juice. Instead, there was delicious espresso, chocolate-raspberry cake, and rhubarb cake. As always, very tasty.
A visit to this beautiful garden is absolutely worth it. Located not far from Luxembourg, it is not exactly around the corner, but such a wonderful garden should be enjoyed by many people.
See you soon!
