Unfortunately, life got in the way yesterday: headache and so I was temporarily turned off.
Therefore, today the ascent to Starkenburg/Heppenheim was unusually accomplished not on my own feet in hiking boots but with the little family car. Only the last meters from the parking lot with a large playground up to the castle I managed to do it myself.
The view was beautiful. There was even a view of the 'Arena' between the trees. We had something similar from the hotel balcony in Malaga too! It was definitely a very adventurous journey up to the castle: construction sites and very narrow roads lead up and, of course, just as steeply back down. Barcelona is still in memory here as well.
So it's better to go straight to the GOLDENER ENGEL hotel in Heppenheim - also something for small cars, because the arrival leads through the well-stooled market square. Here the chairs are simply moved and every car comes to the hotel parking lot. This place has so many half-timbered houses - beautifully renovated and not just around the market square. Today there were many people of all ages around because of the good sunny and warm weather. The gastronomy must have been pleased. We explored all the beautiful small alleys from the market square and were happy that there are such beautiful little streets with cobblestones and many flower pots in front of the houses. So a 'blooming wandering' day still ends relaxed.
