Palau the next days .....

Published: 23.12.2019

After we had slept in, we walked around a bit the next day to explore and check out what's going on here,

I'm excited about the sea here, as well as the inland, the forests, and nature. What I don't like are the houses here.

It's also not easy to walk from point A to point B here, as all the dogs 🐕 roam freely. Sometimes some of them are very aggressive, which can make the walk a bit stressful until you lose the barking dogs again.......

Our first trip took us to Rock Island, which are rugged limestone cliffs where palm trees 🌴 and other trees 🌳 grow. Usually, the islands themselves cannot be accessed as there are no beaches or paths.

The journey on our boat 🚤 was adventurous again, the 🌊 sea was very stormy at a certain point..... and as should be expected, we were soaking wet by the time we reached our first point....

But the weather here can change every minute, we first went to Milkay Way, which is a region in the Rock Islands. The water here looks milky, even though it's completely clear, but there is shell mud on the ground, hence the color. Of course, we all rubbed ourselves with the mud, which naturally gave us a 10-year rejuvenation treatment....😉and you don't want to miss out on that....our next point was the big drop off for snorkeling....we were going through the overgrown limestone cliffs.

Through a wide groove in the sea 🌊, sand and stone banks on the right and left, and in the middle, the fairway where our captain 👨‍✈️ skillfully maneuvered while chewing betel nut.....

Oh, and in case I haven't mentioned it, the national drug here is betel, which is a nut 🥜 enriched with lime powder. It is then wrapped in a banana leaf and placed in the cheek. It causes numbness in the cheek and has a slight intoxicating effect. Teeth, lips, and tongue turn red, saliva production increases, and you have to spit more.... you notice that when people chew it, they are a bit slower in their actions..... if you want to know more about betel nut, you can google it, it's interesting.

So, now our next spot came, although the sea was a bit rough, we hardly felt the waves 🌊 once in the water, and below us, it was really colorful, lots of colorful fish and coral reefs. Of course, I tried to take pictures, but I still need a lot of practice. The next stop was lunch on a small island, with freshly grilled meat, chicken, sauces, and vegetables. However, there were no forks, so I had to try chopsticks, but that worked too. I still have hands, which I also used.....then came the last spot, called Jelly Fish Lake...which is a lake where lots of jellyfish live. Since there is no more oxygen in the depths of the lake, the jellyfish also have no enemies and therefore don't produce any more poison..... and so you can touch them very gently or just let yourself drift and watch how they move.... I found that very relaxing in this lake...........and now some pictures...
