Waitomo Caves ....

.... was our first stop on the way to the 'Northern part of the North Island' 🥝

On this journey, we made a stop to visit the Waitomo Caves: The one and a half hours spent several dozen meters underground revealed stunning stalagmites and stalactites, as well as 'glowworms', which are actually fluorescent fly larvae.

After this excursion one and a half hours underground, we headed back to Auckland, but this time just for a stop on the way north. After a short walk, we had dinner in a food court, followed by a nice bath in our hotel room.
