Taipei

After a long flight with a stopover in Istanbul and a guided city walk, we arrived in Taipei 4 hours late. We then took the express train to the main station - that's where things got difficult. There was no big taxi to be found and when a station wagon came by, the trunk was full... In the end, Kai took the taxi and luggage to the hotel, then back to me and we walked to the hotel together with the bicycle boxes - no Fun!

The next two days we visited Taipei. A bustling city, but one that seems very orderly. Everyone stops at red and drives at green. There is hardly any honking. However, the traffic lights are red for a very long time and there are a lot of them...

The people are very friendly and open-minded. I don't think we've ever been spoken to so much before.

Compared to other Asian countries, Taiwan is very expensive.
