The first highlight of the trip was scheduled: a drive through Yellowstone NP. It was an incredible experience. There is steam and bubbling everywhere. The entire NP is located in one of the largest calderas on Earth, which explains the hydrothermal phenomena. We started at the Old Faithful Geyser, which erupts its water fountains every 2 hours. On the way to Mammoth, we passed by many amazing geysers and hot springs. The climax in Mammoth was the terraced formations. These landscapes were further complemented by wonderful wildlife observations. Regina and I are feeling a bit better, we are on the upswing.
