G'day!
I already mentioned it last time: I'm so impressed by the cool diving pictures of my two older ones that I'm slowly changing my mind about the water. Not that I would jump in completely cocky. You don't have to overdo anything. But I was already at the pool and looked:
And I took a close look at the diving thing. I'm a good observer, you know.
So I was on the diving boat so that I didn't miss anything and could pay attention.
You need certain clothing (neoprene or something like that), strange foot enlargers (I think they're called fins), something to see through (mask or something) and above all a bottle on your back from which the air comes out via tubes and a strange black thing arrives in the mouth (the big one told me that it's called a regulator).
When everything is put together correctly, the two big ones fall backwards into the water and I have to wait for them for a whole hour. It's pretty boring sometimes.
But luckily the two of them are always accompanied by someone who knows their way around down there really well and always draws up a plan beforehand and explains the location (this is called a briefing):
That's why I'm not worried about them. Because I also inspected this so-called diving guide carefully and found it to be really good. By the way, his name is Vijay and he's really nice.
When they're back at some point, it's basically backwards and everything is taken out again, cleaned and stowed away to dry. And the big one always has to charge a lot of batteries after diving. Why does he use so much electricity?
At some point later you have to write everything down in a small notebook (the older one is saying it's a logbook):
Phew, a lot of steps and I probably haven't even mentioned them all yet. I'll keep watching. There's still time.
Well, I first tried out whether I could fit into the camera housing - then I could basically go down in the submarine:
Unfortunately it didn't quite fit. But the food here is just too good. 😋
Tonight there was an Indonesian barbecue here in the house for ages. Wow, they may have been dishing that out. And everything is absolutely delicious, some of it quite spicy:
I think they like me here. I don't do anything special - I'm just a buddy bear. Anyway, I was allowed to take a photo with Kathrin, the general manager of this resort 😇
After such a great day, I really have to go to bed now. Tomorrow morning my two older ones will do two more dives here and after lunch we will continue on to the Bunaken National Park.
I will continue to pay attention and report back.
