Off to the last island - Koh Lanta. It’s a bit livelier there. There’s much more happening. The speedboat transfer works great again. From the harbor, we are taken to our accommodation, which is located in the middle of the island. It’s really nice and green. We rent a scooter for our stay, so we are always mobile and can reach the beach within 5 minutes. We explore the island, which has a small national park in the south, and also visit various beaches. However, our favorite spot is the atmosphere at Secret Beach. It’s just quiet here, and we feel comfortable. There’s also a small mini-old town and the main town in the north, which is the busiest area. Time drifts by as we relax and look for a diving center. Unfortunately, I (Sascha) have picked up a stomach issue (not sure how), and this leads to some wild moments in search of the next toilet due to the significantly accelerated digestion. It’s all quite annoying and not very pleasant, but we are not completely restricted. Usually, there’s a bathroom nearby. The dive center we found leaves a good impression (Hidden Depths Divers). They offer breakfast before diving, and we head out early with a large speedboat to the dive spots, which are a bit further away. This way, we are usually the first at the dive spot, and we don’t experience overcrowded diving sites. We do 2 days of diving. First, 2 dives at Koh Haa and then 2 dives at Koh Bida. Both dive spots are really good, and we see a lot of marine life and beautiful underwater landscapes, including blacktip reef sharks, turtles, and sea snakes. We spend the departure day in Phuket Old Town strolling and enjoying the pool, and in the evening, we head to the airport. Off we go back home.
