,Car workshop‘

The day began with splendid sunshine. We had decided during the night that we didn't want to surf today.

While Ines paid for our overnight stay to the ,Senora’ who actually showed up, Sebb contacted the major German Automobile Club due to yesterday's starting & mountain issues. The computer voice on the phone couldn't connect us to a person but sent us a link for the online claim report. Well, actually the goal of the call was not to hire a tow truck but to find a SUITABLE workshop nearby. After a few seconds, we received a call from a Spanish colleague who spoke German very well and understood our problem. So, she didn't send us a service vehicle but asked for a bit of patience while she made calls. After ten minutes, she was back on the line. She had called five workshops; four of them either didn't answer the phone or immediately declined due to lack of capacity. Only one of the ,Taller’ was willing to take a look at Gary.

We drove half an hour there and were disappointed. The workshop was large enough, but the lady in the office had made the appointment without the workshop manager's consent. He outright refused and sent us another intersection over to a colleague who might have time. Unfortunately, the conversation at this second workshop was even shorter. They had no time. Sebb had suspected, researched, and found a chain of workshops that also repaired large vehicles. Again, we drove a few streets further into the large industrial area. However, even in the workshop, they hesitated to touch the glow plugs; two cars were already on the lifts that had to have their engines removed due to broken glow plugs and sent to a specialist, which was exactly Sebb's major concern. However, the very helpful mechanic kept calling and calling and then gave us a new address a few streets away. So we moved on again and found the small, hidden workshop. The workshop manager was also inclined to refuse us right away but got caught up in a conversation, explained the problem, and then sent one of his mechanics to the car to take a look at the issue. Luckily. The friendly colleague opened the engine compartment and looked around for quite a while. When Sebb fetched the replacement glow plugs from the trunk that we had been carrying around for years, he remarked that they should actually fit. He called his boss and gave us an appointment for the next morning at 9:00 AM.

We made it! We had an appointment for a repair!

In the meantime, Ines found a place at the cultural center for the night, a few kilometers away. Because we didn't want to stay here in the industrial area where trucks constantly roared over the street and the highway right next to it. So we drove a few kilometers out of the highway valley and up into the mountains.

The host of the cafeteria at the cultural center was super friendly, said that we could easily stay there overnight, and even offered us water for Gary. We had a coffee and ordered sandwiches to go with it.

After a short break, we took our obligatory little walk through the area and tested the sports equipment at the local play and sports ground. The grounds of the nearby quarry were of course extensively closed off, so we wandered through the adjacent forest, around a small village, to an old mill that Ines had found online.

In the evening, we sat back with the friendly host in the cafeteria, ordered empanadas, a hamburger, and watched Spanish football ,LaLiga‘.
