Today was another travel day. We had planned a nearly two-hour leg. It was supposed to go around Bordeaux and over the two rivers Garrone and Dordogne. We could have shortened the route by taking the ferry, which would have cost us sixty euros, but we wouldn't have been much faster, so it wasn't worth it. So we drove around the large city on the partly eight-lane highway ring and over the big bridges.

We had set our sights on Arcachon as our destination, but Ines found a free parking spot in Le Teich just before the coast. The local bird sanctuary had a large observation tower, a marina, and a brasserie was also onsite. Perfect.

After our arrival, we took an ornithological tour, but we hardly saw any birds. For dinner, we went to the brasserie. We wanted to observe the sunset from the lookout tower, but there were plenty of clouds, which altered the views somewhat.
