We could have already driven to the Netherlands, but instead, we decided to stay for another day and night on the German side of the border.
This brought us to a visit to the port city of Leer.
Leer offered an impressive museum harbor and a beautiful old town with typical small houses made of red brick.
The city marketing team devised a clever strategy to attract motorhome travelers directly into the city. They simply designated a part of the large parking lot near the center for motorhomes. During the day, the spots were reserved for workers, and at night for vacationers, as there was hardly any space to park in the narrow little streets. Of course, there wasn't much space here either, but for a night and close to the old town, it was perfectly fine.
