It was Monday and we had exhausted most of our food supplies, so we needed to go shopping. We could have walked to the local shop on the promenade, but the selection there was very limited and the prices were quite high.

So we got Gary ready for the journey and drove ten minutes to the nearest supermarket. As it turned out, many others were in the same situation, as the market was completely crowded around lunchtime. Our brand of bottled water was sold out, the selection for bread and milk was also quite limited, but in the end, we got everything we needed. When we asked at the checkout about propane bottles, since we had space for a new gas bottle after yesterday, we were directed to the vending machine in the parking lot.

So we went to get gas from the vending machine. It worked like a package station from DHL back home. You entered what you wanted at the terminal and whether you wanted to return an empty bottle, then you paid and in the end, one of the doors on the rack/cabinet opened and you could take out your bottle. Quite simple really, once you knew how it worked.

We stashed the bottle and our groceries in Gary, once again marveling at the space-saving wonder of the refrigerator, where somehow everything found its place.

Then we drove back and parked in our spot again. We plugged the power back in and went to the sea.

The sea was showing a completely different side today and was so calm that the surf schools could only practice paddling; there were no waves today. After a few hours, we ended our beach visit.

Back at the campsite, there was a note on our table, filled with anticipation for our package we translated the paper and were disappointed to find it was just a reminder that our site reservation was expiring tomorrow and we should please check in at the reception if we wanted to extend. Which we promptly did. So we had two more nights until Wednesday.

Our package from Germany had, in fact, begun moving again after the weekend. This morning at 5:27 AM it had been loaded at the export package center and was supposed to be on the truck heading to France, but it hadn’t arrived here yet.

We moved onto our evening routine: showering, cooking, eating, and washing up. This time, we finally had the salad with chicken strips. Afterwards, we sat outside in front of the door, enjoying the evening as we often do.
