District Heating Art

As in Moldova and the former GDR, above-ground district heating and gas pipes shape the cityscapes. Their construction is sometimes quite adventurous - one could almost assume creativity in the laying and insulating of the pipes. Works of art, don't you think?

In newer construction areas, the pipes are laid underground. You can admire a few striking examples in the pictures. Horribly beautiful!

Lieber Ralph, was für Eindrücke!! Ich weiß nicht, ob ich staunen oder schmunzeln soll! Die Fernheizungsrohre faszinieren ebenso wie die Einrichtung des pädagogischen Zentrums mit den Sportgeräten! Ich frage mich, was du dort bewirken kannst?! Liebe Grüße von Brigitte
