Today we continue to Cape Town, where we will spend the last two nights.

In the morning, we will make a detour to the botanical garden.

The Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden (afrikaansKirstenbosch Nasionale Botaniese Tuine, in German: „Kirstenbosch National Botanical Garden“), known simply as Kirstenbosch, is a botanical garden located in the Newlands suburb of Cape Town. It is situated on the eastern slopes of the Table Mountain and is considered one of the most beautiful botanical gardens in the world.

There might not be as many flowers blooming as in spring, but it is still incredibly beautiful here.

In the afternoon, we head to our accommodation in Cape Town.

The registration process, which includes a photo and fingerprint, is a bit complicated, but afterwards, you can enter the building everywhere with a facial scan.

From our stylish apartment, we have a great view of Table Mountain and there is a rooftop terrace with a pool.

The Waterfront is bustling today, as New Year's Eve is being celebrated here. It’s quite crowded. We toast to 2025 on the rooftop terrace. There is a small fireworks display at the Waterfront, but otherwise, no one is really partying here.

The weather on the first day of the new year is fantastic, and we take a little trip to the Cape. Today, we will drive along Chapman’s Peak Drive again in beautiful weather.

However, it’s really crowded at the beaches and on the roads. After our last walk at the Waterfront, it’s time to pack. Tomorrow we continue our journey towards Cairo.

We enjoy the view from the balcony of Table Mountain, illuminated in darkness.

Our conclusion about South Africa. This time we definitely enjoyed it more than last time. Once you get out of the greater Cape Town area, there is no more barbed wire, and you simply feel better. Crime continues to rise in the country, largely due to extreme poverty. There are many very wealthy people but also a lot more poor individuals. We consistently met only nice, warmhearted, and super friendly South Africans. The food and drinks are incredibly affordable and of good quality. The weather occasionally went a bit crazy (with 4 seasons in a day) but overall was quite good. We enjoy the view from the balcony of Table Mountain, illuminated in darkness.

Golfing is very inexpensive, and the courses are quite beautiful

This certainly won't be the last time we are here.
