Banlung presented itself as a small sleepy town. After all, I found a resort with a nice bungalow surrounded by jackfruit trees. On the next day, I got a scooter and drove to the nearby sacred volcanic lake.

The people in the east are even friendlier. Also, prices are significantly cheaper. Beer 40 cents, food 1.50 euros, and accommodation up to a maximum of 8.00 euros.
