Pattaya / Thailand

Published: 26.12.2017

From the cold Hanoi we finally went to Thailand 😍

Actually, Pattaya was not on our list, but since we had advanced our flight and had to be in our accommodation in Bangkok on the 01, we looked for the nearest beach location from Bangkok. From here it was only 1.5 hours and we didn't have to travel long distances.

Pattaya - sex tourism - old men with young Thai women. That is the only thing that everyone associates with this city - we thought so too. And yes, of course, that is true somewhere, but not only.
(There are really a lot of young people on the road who are just on a normal vacation😀).

Pattaya itself offers thousands of restaurants, bars, shops, etc. The beach of Pattaya stretches for several kilometers, but it is not the most beautiful and of course quite crowded. But we didn't care, as long as we had warmth and the sea again!

On the first day we met Udo. Ok, Udo actually fulfilled the Pattaya cliché 😀 Udo was 61 years old, traveled to Pattaya twice a year for 2-3 months and enjoyed himself there regularly. But still - everyone should do what they like - Udo was a super cool, funny guy with whom we actually sat and talked on the beach every day (and with his whole crew). He even told us that Pattaya has one of the highest suicide rates in Thailand, because in his words 'all the old idiots' always fall in love right away and when they then realize the truth much too late, they jump off the towers ...

In the evenings we were mostly on Walking Street. Here you can find EVERYTHING! Normal (!!) bars, normal (!!) clubs, normal restaurants (!!). But yes, of course, also thousands of go-go bars, red light venues, ladyboys,... But everything is quite amusing as long as you avoid one or the other entrance 😀

Well, that's it with Pattaya and in the end we liked it despite all the prejudices 😊
