Changing between short, intense showers and long sunny periods.
Since we only had a simple small cabin, packing is quick and we say goodbye to the others - they are heading south, we continue on our journey to the far north. On our route today are the Helgeland Bridge - one of the longest cable-stayed bridges in the world -
and three ferry rides,
as we cross the Arctic Circle! After about 2 1/2 weeks, we are now above the border of the midnight sun and polar night.
Furthermore, it's autumn - temperatures are falling below 10 degrees even during the day, vegetation is starting to change colors, and the days are getting noticeably shorter.
Throughout the entire journey, we are constantly amazed by the magnificent landscape, the interplay of tall rugged cliffs, majestic green peaks, seemingly endless fjords, and numerous waterfalls - all in one view. Then around the next curve, over the next hill - even more beauty, even higher mountains, even deeper fjords... It's hard to put into words.
And once again, we find a beautiful cabin, even with its own bathroom!
