Today was a day of farewell – with heavy hearts, we left Oakhurst and thus also Sarah and Jonas behind us. While the two of them soon continue to San Francisco, our path takes us...

Before we left the Parks Inn in Lemon Cove heading to Pismo Beach, we had what was probably the best breakfast of our trip so far. Lisa and her husband prepared a fresh, individualized menu for each guest – for us, a delicious vegetarian breakfast. There was freshly squeezed orange juice from oranges grown on the neighboring property, along with wonderfully aromatic coffee, fresh fruit salad, a warm pastry from the oven, and then delicious bread with a fried egg and zucchini boat. All the fruits and vegetables came directly from their own garden. It was not only incredibly tasty but also such a warm and loving experience that we would have loved to stay longer.
Rejuvenated, we made our way towards the coast and stopped in Morro Bay along the way to admire the impressive Morro Rock – a giant volcanic dome that majestically rises from the water. There we took the opportunity to briefly call Mari. After that, we continued heading south.
Since we could only check into the hotel at 4 PM, we went directly to the beach. However, finding a parking spot right in the middle of Pismo Beach proved to be impossible – after a long search, we finally ended up in Grover Beach and decided to eat at Fin’s at the Grover Beach Pier. The food was so delicious that we spontaneously decided to come back the next day.
We spent almost the entire second day at Grover Beach. We enjoyed the sun, relaxed with our books, and let our souls dangle. For breakfast, we visited the Red Bee Coffee House – the coffee there was a dream.
In the evening, we went back to Pismo Beach, where we watched the surfers glide through the waves in the evening sun for a long time. The combination of the sea, sunset, and that relaxed atmosphere was simply perfect.
It was two wonderfully calm and relaxing days – exactly what we needed after the many impressions of the last time.
