So,

this morning I went with Martin to the tax office and got a tax number. Fifteen minutes later we were back outside. Everything is super complicated in Argentina because you need a tax number to buy a house and nothing else. ;) In Germany, it must be much simpler.

Additionally, incredibly funny things happened at the tax office. You wouldn't believe it. But that's a story for another time. Just so you know: my new neighbor works in this office, and it seems like half of Mar del Plata knows about my house since it is something special.

Then we went to the immigration office. Also incredibly complicated: the officer said that since I own a house in Argentina, I will get a visa. I just need to report when the tourist visa expires. ;)

Thus, the bureaucratic part was completed, and I drove to Santa Teresita.

Santa Teresita seems to still be in hibernation, waiting for the bathing season. Just like you know it. A bit like the seaside resorts in Germany or the North and Baltic Sea islands. You know what I mean.

And here’s the anecdote of the day.

I bought a bottle of Malbec at the supermarket, which, of course, comes with a cork (For the logbook: next time, bring a corkscrew).

After that, I went to a delicatessen to have some real Argentine sandwiches made. Then I remembered the corkscrew problem and asked the owner if he could open the bottle for me.

Well, the store mainly sells wine, ham, and cheese. But there was no corkscrew. ;)

What does the Argentine do? He wanders the streets with my bottle of wine looking for a friend who has a corkscrew.

Crazy but typical.

In any case, the bottle ended up being open.

Cheers!

The delicatessen
