Hello!
This morning I actually had to go to the hospital. A laceration needed to be treated. Nothing serious (A villa with what feels like thousands of steps and ramps takes its toll).
At least the drive to Mar del Plata is always a highlight:
The real story, however, is that the doctor did not accept credit cards, even though you can use them at every little beach bar here without issues.
Well, another patient in the waiting room stepped in spontaneously and made the payment from his account. I then wanted to give him 20 dollars in cash, which he consistently refused.
That's Argentina!
But I insisted, and he eventually accepted the 20 dollars.
Then it was off to my notary, Sergio.
Now that the money has arrived in the USA with Hermann, I have received all the documents that designate me as the owner of the villa.
This way, I can go to the immigration office on Monday and pick up my residential visa. With that, I've officially arrived in Argentina and can pay taxes, health insurance, etc. here.
Exhausted but happy, I returned home to find a jar of homemade peach jam in front of my door.
Hermann's mother had given it to me, but I was not home.
There are always quite a few hummingbirds buzzing around here. But the little guys are so quick. Quite amazing.
But today, I managed to catch one:
Here's to Argentinians who live and let live!
