On the road again.....
Cars don't belong on ships, they belong on the road. Okay, in our case maybe more off-road. But to get there, we have to cover a lot of distance. Unfortunately, the weather is...

The road to Memphis leads via Interstate 30 to Dallas. The weather is decent, which doesn't matter considering the long journey. A comfortable 110 km/h, but it bothers the truckers who are traveling at much higher speeds. Also, trailer homes as trailers on pickups that are almost the size of a German townhouse. Unbelievable what drives around here.
Contrary to the plan to drive south towards Austin and then to the Mexican border from Dallas, the journey continues westward. Overnight stays are sometimes found in places next to the interstate, but sometimes you are lucky and find a little gem in the most boring corner of Texas. Nestled in one of the world's largest oil fields is the Monahans Sandhill Park. Total peace, finest sand and sun. Until hail came *laughs*. Still beautiful and good conversations with some other globetrotters.
Further and further on the endless road, we once again realize that we often have little knowledge of the geographical conditions. So the cities of El Paso, Tucson or Tombstone, known from many westerns, are located at an impressive altitude of 1,200 meters above sea level. Straight roads through prairie landscapes with no noteworthy sights.
A stay in Deming gives us an invitation to "Cocktail and Snacks". We bring about a dramatic reduction in the average age of the group, as most of them are likely to be over 70. Nevertheless, nice conversations and some tips.
