Koh Samui

Published: 21.04.2023

Hello dear ones, we wish you a nice start to the weekend later 🥰

on 15.04 it took 30 minutes by ferry from Koh Phangan to the slightly larger neighboring island Koh Samui - finally a short travel day 🙈

Unfortunately, Nils got a little sick, so he had to spend the first 3 days here in bed. But now he's back in top shape :)

Of course, we rented scooters again and explored the island. The traffic here is definitely busier - but in the hinterland it's back to normal. However, it's sometimes very hilly, so our scooters were put to the test 😂

In general, we had to get used to Samui at first, as it's much more touristy here. There are many large hotels, more restaurants with European food, and incredibly many bars with loud music. We also notice a lot more Thai "Massage Salons" here that offer "happy Massage/Love Massage"...

On our second day here, it actually rained from morning until noon - the first rain in over 2 months! The girls used the day for a beach massage, 1 hour for the equivalent of 11.11€. We will definitely repeat that!

We particularly enjoy visiting the various markets/night markets, strolling around and trying unknown foods/drinks 😊

Every day (multiple times) we shop at 7 Eleven. How is it possible that there is still no photo of it? 😂A supermarket that can be found on every corner in Thailand, where you can find everything from fresh coffee to groceries, medicine, drinks, and packaged food such as sandwich toast or rice dishes (which are heated up at the checkout).

Yesterday we took a trip on a longtail boat. First stop: snorkeling. 2nd stop: Pig Island. The special thing is that the island is largely uninhabited, except for a family with many pigs, dogs, and chickens.

Unfortunately, today is Nils' last day, he will fly home tonight - how quickly time has passed?? 😫
