From Onsea House, we left almost punctually at 9:00 am after a sumptuous breakfast and it took us about 3 1/2 hours to reach the main gate of Tarangire National Park. On the way, we made a short detour to Arusha to pick up our lunch. It was market day and everyone had driven their goods to the market, including 5-year-old Maasai children herding the entire herds of cows and goats on their own. When we arrived at the main gate, there was a huge line of safari jeeps and since we didn't want to wait, we had lunch first. We bet on which wild animal we would see first. Lotte won with the impala, which was standing right behind the first turn. Emma was second with the wildebeest. Papa was third, he bet on the buffalo. Then Leo came with the giraffe, as there were no flamingos in the park (Mama) 😂😂😂.
We arrived at Mawe Ninga Camp around 5:00 pm and we could settle into our tents. We were greeted with fresh towels and fresh juice. Then we chilled on the rocks and enjoyed the sunset. The tent arrangement was Lotte, Papa, and Emma in one tent, and Leo and Mama in the other tent.
