Rosignano Solvay - Day ten

We wanted to see THE beach that is supposed to be incredibly beautiful. The story behind it is also...incredible (in my opinion):

A soda factory in Rosignano Solvay is responsible for this unusual 'natural spectacle'. The soda factory has been discharging its wastewater into the sea for over 20 years. The mercury contained in these wastewater is said to have bleached the sand of Vada and thus the beach is so white.

Dream of Caribbean bathing pleasure in Tuscany is over.

Okay, I didn't want to go to the Caribbean (I just wanted to go to Italy). No problem.

Now we had the best pizza in Italy and took a photo of the beautiful sky at the beach. It's so wonderful by the sea, it's still very warm and the sea is roaring...oh...I'll take it home with me.
