Binningen, 8:30. Spönsi is late (Rémy is too early!!!!!!- Note Fabian), but we are used to it. I pick him up with my mother and we drive to the train station. There we buy a ticket to Zurich at the airport. Everything goes smoothly. After that, the waiting begins and we have to wait for our check-in. After the check-in, we go to the security check and there is already the first complication: I have to explain all of my diabetes tools. Annoying...! After that, we board the plane to New York JFK. 9:40h in a relatively empty plane go by quickly with movies and vegan lasagna. After that, we have to transfer in New York at JFK Airport. That means endless security checks and a lot of walking. Then we can finally take our connecting flight to Sao Paulo. We spend most of this flight sleeping. Once we arrive in Sao Paulo, we take a taxi directly to our host Vania's place.
She is very warm and welcoming us to her apartment. We settle in briefly, take a shower, brush our teeth, and then take an Uber to the city for about $3. There, we wander around Avenida Paulista for a bit and finally find a grill buffet where we have a delicious lunch. After that, we decide to visit two museums. The Museu do imagem e sound and the Museu do casa brasileira. In summary, both are interesting, but unfortunately, everything is only written in Portuguese, making it difficult to understand.
After the two museums, we continue to brave the Brazilian heat towards Ibirapuera Park. There were many skaters (good and not so good) to watch. We also visited the Japanese Pavilion, which is highly recommended. Then it started to drizzle and we decided to take an Uber home. Now we are sitting in our room again and trying to decide where we will have dinner tonight. It will probably be a grill restaurant again.
See you soon,
Rémy
