The last full day in Venice. This must be used. The Museum Ticket Package still offers numerous possibilities. First, find out which museums and churches are covered and then we start our Museum Marathon. We start at the Doge's Palace, right on St. Mark's Square. Among other things, Sisi from Austria lived in a few rooms here (very tastefully).
After visiting more churches, we take a shuttle boat ride across the Grand Canal to Campo del Ghetto in the north. This is where the (world's first) ghetto was 'invented'. At that time, the Jewish residents were simply locked in their own neighborhood, including a curfew, etc. Today, it is interesting new territory for tourists.
Once we reached the north of the lagoon in the evening, we decided to take a larger boat trip with the shuttle boat. The trip (about 1.5 hours) takes us around the northern islands of Murano (where Murano glass is made), Burano (known since the end of the 18th century for lace embroidery), and other outlying islands and places, such as Lido, Treporti, and Punta Sabbioni.
Again... on the horizon (slight) lightning, including a minute of rain on the promenade, quickly a pasta dish in the restaurant, and back to the room -> Goodnight!
