Day 34 - The Moose Sighting

The morning was very warm and we were woken up by the sun.

So we packed our things and drove to Ekshärad to visit Jochen and Jutta. We were planning to stay there for a few days. We arrived there around 2:30 PM and were welcomed with coffee and cake. We talked a lot and for a long time, so the planned fishing trip had to be canceled as it was already too late. While Jutta was preparing dinner, Jochen took us on a moose safari so that we could also see one. We drove through the forest for about 1 1/2 hours, and then there it was, so innocent and incredibly well-camouflaged by the roadside. An incredibly large animal and yet so shy. When he noticed that we were getting closer, he ran into the forest and hid behind a tree, watching us. He was a bit camera-shy, so we don't have a particularly nice picture of him.

But that doesn't matter to us, because we saw him in all his glory and it was really amazing. When we returned, we were treated to a delicious dinner. We ended the evening with a cozy game of Wizard. And so, an eventful and beautiful day came to an end. We were very grateful that we were allowed to sleep in the house, as it was pouring rain outside and we would probably have drowned. So we went to sleep peacefully and the rain didn't bother us at all.
