Camping Tuani, Corte
Beautifully situated in the woods, beside the Restonica River, no internet (I have always wished for this), site without electricity
Day 1: hot until the thunderstorm in the afternoon
Drive through the mountains for 2 hours, visited a tortoise farm A Cupulatta along the way.
At the campsite, we wanted to book a shuttle for tomorrow's hike. But that can only be done with an app and free WiFi for 15 minutes. We just managed to do that in time.
As we didn’t have cash for the campsite, we rode down to Corte, then jumped into the pool. In the evening, needed long pants and a jacket.
Day 2: 30 degrees until the thunderstorm at 3:00 PM
Took a shuttle to A Frasseta. From there, a 4.5-hour hike to the Bergerie de Grotelle. Very well-marked path Restonica Trail. The asphalt road blocked due to a landslide 2 years ago.
Just in time, we returned to the campsite before the thunderstorm.
For dinner, rode to Corte. There was a commotion due to the Restonica Trail. Ordered Corsican food with wild boar. Charming old town in need of renovation.
Day 3: hot until the thunderstorm in Corte at 2:00 PM
Since the autonomous battery doesn’t last for 3 days, we change sites after breakfast. Biked to Corte and from there a 2.5-hour hike to Punta di Zurmulu. Steep and sweat-inducing, but beautiful view. Back in Corte, a nice Corsican gelato. Jumped into the cold pool twice.
Conclusion Corsica:
Diverse area, nice Corsicans, campsites possible in June without reservation, roads sometimes a bit narrow, good food
