The night was quite uncomfortable. Our heating system broke down and we almost froze in the freezing cold Icelandic camper again.
The heating system runs on gasoline, so Tamy thought it was a good idea to continue our route in the middle of the night and recharge the heating system.
We drove for an hour through the Icelandic night, and except for a few birds, no one else was on the road.
Unfortunately, the hour hardly sufficed. After a short time, just as we had fallen asleep again, the heating system stopped working once more.
Our home on four wheels didn't want to start anymore in the afternoon. Any attempts to get the car running were in vain. According to the car rental company, the battery was probably dead. Fortunately, we were standing quite close to a town and could seek help on foot. And there we finally met them, the friendly, nice, and helpful Icelanders.
They immediately got us jumper cables and accompanied us to our camper. We prayed that it was really just the battery, and yes, our prayers were answered.
The car started, and we can continue our route towards the north.
