Day 12 and 13: Train ride to Irkutsk

On Sunday, we boarded the Trans-Siberian Railway at half past eleven in the morning. For the next almost 48 hours, this would be our home.


In the compartment next door, a German family has settled in. They are really everywhere :)


So that we don't have to go hungry for the next 2 days, our old acquaintance from Omsk gave us a food package. She came to the station again to say goodbye.

On Tuesday at 6:22 am local time, we will arrive in Irkutsk.
The reception is very poor during that time. So we entertain ourselves with reading, playing, and looking out the window.
You can only consume alcohol in restaurants, and alcohol is not sold at the train stations where we stop.
In general, consumption on public streets is prohibited.
