Mozart balls
I had the worst pain of the year for two days in Salzburg. Every muscle, every joint hurt. Clearly, it was the cold. The tips of my fingers were red like never before. My...

The day started out pretty animal-like. I woke up really early and listened to the birds chirping. Then it began. Monday morning and a new week of therapy. On the way, a white pile of bird poop splashed onto my hand. Great, this is off to a good start. I don't even have a tissue. What do I do now? I wipe it off in the grass. Hopefully, no one is watching me 😃 I continue on. Splat splat. What is this again? Something is stuck to my shoe. Help. It's just berries. Or is it poop? I don't want to find out and keep going.
Upon arriving, I set up my spot. New sheet on the cot, breakfast on the table. Strip down, put on a bathrobe. Check. Now to wait for the doctor. A whole horde of students enters the room. Strip down again. Everyone take a look. No problem.
I bring my treatment sheet to the light department, as always I don't have to wait and get to lie down right away. Strip down, put on my glasses. Beep beep beep. Here we go. Warmth all over my body, I'm almost falling asleep. Beep beep 'turn over once!' do it for as long as needed. Slip! It crashes, like every time the machine shuts off. I get dressed and go back to my room. I undress again, apply cream. And now to wait. Almost 4 hours until I can go. One really gets tired. Even at home, I mostly just sleep. Meeting people? Not longer than two hours. Then my energy is used up, and I want to sleep again. Over the weekend, I at least spent 60 minutes outside having ice cream. I’m not allowed to be in the sun right now either. No sunburn. But I have plenty of social contact here. They talk and chatter like hens. My girls in my room are very friendly. But sometimes it's too much. I want to sleep.
“So my father always put the pig snout on the table on a plate. And then he ate it. Afterwards, his whole face was full of grease. He loved it.”
Alright then. Enough animals for today.
