Visit to the Medieval Imperial City of Mühlhausen

It's a rainy day, and with eight motorhomes, we drive to the medieval imperial city of Mühlhausen, where a historical old town tour is booked for us. Four people ride in each vehicle as the motorhome drivers take us to the designated parking area. Here, we are picked up by our city guide, Mr. Jürgen Hein. The tour begins at a mill, as Mühlhausen was once the city of mills. We then proceed to the All Saints Church, and along the way, we see beautiful half-timbered houses, a remaining wall of the Augustinian monastery, part of the synagogue, curiosities, a uniquely styled town hall, a brewery, an inn that used to be a pharmacy, and a church that now houses a museum. A new monument has been reconstructed based on a drawing by Albrecht Dürer from the year 1525. A thunderstorm approaches, and we seek refuge in the cathedral where J.S. Bach once played the organ. We wait out the strong thunderstorm and sing again our 'Great God, we praise You.' Enough of the tour; most of the group heads to the brewery. A few go to a lovely café, while the rest visit the Mary Church once more. During a break in the rain, everyone returns to the parking area and drives back. What does our driver see...? We follow the signpost, and behold... we have reached the center of Germany. We continue returning since the farewell dinner awaits us. A reservation is made for us at Schill's Schenke, and everyone walks there. Schnitzels of all kinds are served there today. After the excellent meal, Ricci thanks everyone during his final briefing. Once again, it was a lovely RMF-Europe spring outing.
