I'm making breakfast, Rebecca is using the pool for an early morning swim. After our morning dose of cereal with fruit, we set off.
The drive from Hervey Bay to Noosa is not particularly long. And since we've been mostly by the pool in the last few days, we decide to take a little detour to Mount Tinbeerwah. We park the car in the parking lot and are a little surprised that the path to the top is only 1km long. Whatever, the view seems promising. It will definitely be beautiful in good weather. Unfortunately, the view towards the ocean is dominated by rain clouds. Luckily, you have a 360 degree view and the forests of the hinterland look impressive with the clouds.
After the short walk and a lunch in the car (couscous salad), we drive to the town of Noosa. After shopping at Aldi, we head to the beach. We have heard from other campers that the parking situation at the beaches is less than optimal. But once again, we are lucky with parking. We stroll along the beach and explore the shopping street near the beach.
In the late afternoon, we drive through Noosa and look for our campsite. Not too far from the center, we stay at a campsite that is normally reserved for the local scouts. Since the sun sets in this part of Australia just before 6 p.m. and the twilight/darkness belongs to the mosquitoes, we retreat to the camper after dinner and read.
