On Tuesday, it was finally time for us to leave Costa Rica. Early in the morning, we set off. With heavy hearts, we parted from 'our' apartment after a good four months. LA, however, greeted us with cold, yet sunny weather. The next day, it poured down rain. By the way, according to our guidebook, it was the only day it rained continuously during the day. Right when we had booked our tour! Unfortunately, the photos turned out poorly as a result.

Much bad is written about LA. Well, I imagined it to be worse than it actually was. But perhaps the rain played a part in that. The Walk of Fame is usually frequented by many homeless and drug addicts. This time, there weren't so many, but the smell of urine was still hard to miss, even despite the rain. Gleam and glamour can really only be found on Rodeo Drive; elsewhere, the city appears quite dirty. In the end, we found that, in our view, Venice Beach is actually the best place to live. The canals with the many narrow houses are really nice, and nothing here reminds you of typical LA. Very quiet and away from the hustle and bustle. Apparently, some houses are also used as filming locations for several movies.

All in all: visiting once for a few days is more than enough!
