The differences from Germany
Today I really started implementing my workout program: running 5 times a week and at least 2/3 times strength training after the run. Here there are a few machines, dumbbells,...

I would like to share a little update regarding my sporting activities here. Apart from the eternally long and steep stairs that one must always climb here, I initially went running regularly. Unfortunately, that's no longer possible as one of my running shoes has broken irreparably. At first, I thought I'd just get new shoes in the civilization two hours away, but then another plan came to mind. Since the 'running route' is not particularly good anyway and I had intended to focus more on workouts during my time here, that will now remain my sole goal. I want to stick with it for months for the first time (hopefully without injury)! My goal is five times a week.
A somewhat different 'sport,' but still fun to mention, is that I played my first games of billiards here. There's a table in the middle of the common room, and many people pass their time playing it. However, they play with significantly different rules than I'm used to, which made it quite difficult for me to understand everything.
Recently, on a free afternoon, I visited the relatively nearby waterfalls, where one can cool off in a natural 'pool.' All alone, right in the jungle – what more could you want?
Yesterday, I ventured much further away from the lodge to explore the area more. I had a free day and was able to use it to complete assignments for university in the morning and finally go to the beach in the afternoon to swim. I turned it into a little hike and walked to the entrance of Corcovado National Park – about 14 km round trip in hilly terrain, so not without its challenges. But I really enjoyed it. The cool-down in the sea felt great, although swimming here is anything but relaxing because the current is incredibly strong. I've never experienced anything like it…
Lastly, I want to share that I attended a meeting of the White Hawk Foundation for the first time the day before yesterday and hope to contribute meaningfully during my time here! The land between the lodge and the national park is for sale, and the construction of hotels or something similar would be allowed. Therefore, the current goal is to raise about 5 million dollars to buy and protect the land.
